One thing after another....

I'm 7 Months!
I love the new car my G'ma B got me! I even make
sure my hands are at 10 and 2!

I actually liked my Neb treatments

I'm getting close to crawling

Future Best Buds!

Nolan is 7 months old!! This past month has been filled with lots of new things good and bad. We are so happy to say that Nolan FINALLY has both of his bottom teeth!! After a long few months with rosie cheeks, drooling, being very fussy and sleepless nights, he finally got some teeth. He has been a very happy boy for the past few weeks not dealing with sore gums...but of course he obviously has many more teeth that have to pop through, so we are starting over with the whole teething bit. My poor guy is having a tough time again with more teeth, so hopefully the next ones come sooner. Another thing Nolan has started to do is get up on his hands and knees and starts to rock back and forth...thinking very hard on how to crawl. It is so funny to watch him think through what he wants to do. He is getting close, but still falls to his belly and gets angry. He is extremely intrigued with his hands lately and is really in love with sucking on his toes and pulling his socks off. Bauer and him are also becoming really good friends! They both really like each other. Bauer really likes cuddling up next to him when he is on the floor playing and Bauer tries to bring his toys to Nolan to play with him. We get such a kick out of it. On the down side Nolan has finally got over 2 weeks of being sick. It started with watery eyes and runny nose, then lead to a sinus infection, then finally we brought him back in with a horrible cough and was told he had bronchitis and he was on Neb treatments. I absolutely hated that Albuterol nebulizer. Nolan got so crazy on it and could not sleep and was super fussy because of it. Hopefully we won't need that again for a LONG time or ever! Hope everyone else is staying healthy! We are also enjoying the longer days and nicer weather!!

6 Months

Yay! I'm 6 Months
Such a big boy

So sweet

He has no choice but to be a Cubs fan!

Ready to play

Looking good

One of my favs

Central hockey is so much fun! We are so proud of Casey and the Central Knights!

"Leave me alone mom, I'm playing!"

Nolan turned 6 months on Feb 21st. He had his 6 month checkup on Friday and did very well. He is still hanging out around the 50th percentile for his size and 25th for his head circumference. We are still waiting for his first teeth to pop through. I am starting to think that he just isn't going to get any teeth, but the doctor says they should come "any day now!" I sure hope she is right. It will be fun to see what he looks like with teeth. He is getting extremely active and is constantly jumping. He loves his Johnny Jump Up! He is sitting up like a pro and is starting to get to his belly to reach for things. His legs "crawl" but his arms don't, but I think he will be crawling before we know it. One of his other new things is that he cries most of the time when I leave the room. It is really hard to get anything done! He has also discovered that he can be loud and scream to communicate. It sounds like he is already talking back to us, but at least he smiles while he does it! We did finally take him to get some professional pictures taken and he was such a charmer and big flirt. He is pretty photogenic and knows how to smile for the camera! He also went to his first wedding reception and dinner this past weekend and to his first State Hockey Championship game and he lasted through the 2nd period before he fell asleep and was such a good boy at both events. My aunt Holly even says that he is an "Angel" at daycare!!! He is a pretty lovable little man. Of course here are more pics - I know I take soooo many so I may as well share them!

I Need Some Distraction

Sledding is my new favorite activity. I love to be outside!
First Mommy brought me sledding in the livingroom.
She will do anything to distract me from my teething.

I really love my bottle

Since Nolan is teething we are not getting much sleep and we have to constantly entertain him and distract him from his sore gums. We took him for the first time outside on his sled. He loved every minute of it. We cannot wait for the weather to get nice so we can be outside all the time. Nolan loves to be outside and on the go, so he will be a happy camper when we can be outside more often! Not a whole lot else is going on in our house...just waiting for teeth to come through and for Nolan's 6 month birthday. Enjoy some new pics.

5 Months

Nolan loves his bath
Happy Man

Watching Daddy shovel

Didn't want to smile for his 5 month photo

Nolan turned 5 months this past Thursday, January 21st. It has been an interesting month. Nolan is showing more and more signs of teething and has experienced his first ear infection. I had no idea how miserable teething can be; I feel so bad for my little man. It was a rough few weeks for Dan and I too with Nolan waking up every 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Once Nolan got on Amoxicillian for his ear infection he started sleeping much better and felt much better too! On the up side, Nolan is starting to reach out to people he wants to hold him, he is sitting up on his own a little better each day, he still loves playing in his saucer, he loves sweet potatoes, he is a big flirt with just about every girl he comes across ; ) he loves to say "wwwoooohhh", he likes to sleep on his left side, he has the sweetest smile that can make anyone melt, he loves his daddy very much and thinks he is soooo funny, he loves to watch Danny and Bauer wrestle, he loves to look out the window (like Bauer) and is overall a perfectly happy boy!

4 month checkup

Nolan had his 4 month appointment on Tuesday Dec. 29th. He weighed in at 14 lbs 4.5 oz and was 24.5 inches long, both are at the 50th percentile and he is still hanging out at the 25th percentile for his head circumference. He did good at his appointment and did great with his shots. I stayed in the waiting room this time while Danny sat with Nolan for his shots. According to Danny, Nolan cried more when we put his snow suite on than he did with his shots! He did not get his TDaP shot due to his reaction to his shots the first round. The doctor assumed that his reaction was due to that specific shot so we skipped it since Nolan was already feeling a little sick with his cold. We will go back in the next week or two to get the shot, so hopefully he does better the second time around with it. He acted completely normal (minus a little wimpery from feeling a little sick) with this round of shots, so I am not looking forward to giving him the TDaP shot in fear of him reacting to it the way he did the first time, but he needs it so we will have to go through a day of extreme fussiness I guess:( Just an update on Nolan's cereal eating...he is eating it so good and is now opening his mouth when I bring the spoon up to his mouth! He eats it all up and loves it. He acts like he can't get enough. He also is becoming more independent and is playing alone in his saucer more often. He explores all the toys on it and he especially loves his crinkly book. He is also slowly improving with his sitting ability! Nolan and Bauer hanging out on the last day of the year!
Shortly after my shots!

Mommy is not holding on to me. I am sitting on my own!!

Big Week

Nolan had quite a big week. It started out last Sunday when we decided to give him rice cereal for the first time. He seems so interested in our food, so we thought at 4 months he could try cereal and he did great. He was a little confused at first, but is starting to get the hang of it. On Sunday he also rolled from his belly to his back. This is big for him considering he absolutely hates to be on his belly and is never on his belly. He also fell asleep on his own in the crib that night, but of course that didn't last the rest of the week! On Monday the 21st he turned 4 months old, and is really starting to get fun. He loves to play with his toys and teething rings. Another thing we noticed this week is that he is kind of starting to take strange and is taking longer to warm up with others. He definitely has eyes for mommy and daddy. Then of course there was his first Christmas. He survived the craziness at the Purpur house on Christmas Eve and we enjoyed a nice quiet Christmas Day with Danny's family. Unfortunately he also spent his first Christmas with a fever and cold. My poor peanut had a rough few nights with sleep and breathing, but is feeling lots better. I think all the (many, many) gifts he got cheered him up! One last thing to report is that I caught him on Saturday sitting up on his own!! We sit him up in his boppy pillow a lot and I looked over at him to see that he pulled himself up to the sitting position to grab and toy and sat there and played with it. We were so proud! He is growing too fast.

First Hockey Game!

Nolan with his Great Uncle Cliff
Nolan with my cousin Jordan. Notice that Nolan
was supporting Central by wearing his Redskins shirt!

Out to lunch for Daddy's birthday. Nolan was flirting with the waitress!

Nolan attended his first hockey game on Friday night (12-18) at the REA. We went to watch Central play Apple Valley, and of course to watch my Cousin Casey who plays for Central. He was so good and just stared down at the ice and watched very intently. I am glad it was entertaining for him! Saturday was a busy day for us. It was Danny's birthday so we went to lunch, then went to watch Central's 3rd period, then went to my little cousin Luc's hockey game, then went to Dan's parent's for dinner. Nolan was so good and flexible! Hope everyone is well. Merry Christmas!
